Don’t Miss Out – Massive Sale On February 22

On February 22nd, we celebrate our annual 2nd Dynasty Day, you might notice a theme of twos. Starting with a 50% off sale on our MyMiniFactory store. We have two creators provided gifts, That Blasted Samophlange and Kathy Millatt Modelling. And we decided to do something a little special with our usual $22.22 sale price on an existing flagship vessel …

This year, we’re launching a brand-new standalone edition of one of our most popular ships: Scout Ship Beta, reimagined as Galeos.

Galeos is a remix, with great help from Shirgall in our Discord. It mixes the Hammer head mod to allow a forward cockpit. This configuration is built for crews who want a fast, long-range scout with serious interior presence. Normally $44.44, it will be available for $22.22 on 2nd Dynasty Day only.

Eligibility requires Tribe membership at Vehicle tier or higher.

Galeos Specifics

At 85 cm long, 31 cm wide, and 20 cm tall, Galeos dominates the table without wasting space. It assembles from 300+ parts plus clips and connectors, giving you a deeply modular build thanks to new GridForge compatibility that rewards hobbyists and delivers dramatic play value once complete.

Interior highlights include:

  • A new recreation area on the top deck, because crews need somewhere to breathe between firefights. Includes a new modified couch and redone upper hull to help with consoles.
  • An expanded galley on the middle deck for a more believable lived-in layout that gives space for play.
  • A new Engineering section with added space for minis and a new console, as well as a temperamental Matter Anti-Matter Marriage Engine (MAMME).
  • The same spacious cargo bay and crawl spaces below, do you hear something in the vents?

Galeos is built to allow more roleplay scenes, and still work with full-scale sci-fi campaigns. It includes multiple mounting points that can be swapped to our universal turret system when you want to get into the fight.

On February 22nd, it’s yours for $22.22.

This Year Starts With Quite A Big Bang

Last year ended with the Tribes-release of Skoldpadda – an absolutely massive release, bigger than the Shuttle Alpha!

Skoldpadda is the Swedish word for Tortoise (Ben explains the pronounciation like this: roughly pronounced hwoold-pad-da – the hw sound is like making your best Michael Winslow impression of a distant jet engine on a warm day). Directly translated, it means Shield-Toad.

The Skoldpadda is a single level starship with a 6×6 GridForge cargo/passenger area, and a 5×2 neck. It will be 13.5 squares long and 11 squares wide (ca. 34 cm x 27.5 cm).

The Skoldpadda is now available in our store at Myminifactory, our main distributor.

Ben’s chief inspiration for the Skoldpadda is the USS Defiant (anyone who’s familiar with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine understands) along with another design that he can see in his imagination (he refers to Macross and Robotech).

2nd Dynasty has not done many Trek style ships, but some have pointed out that Skoldpadda is not far from belonging quite comfortably in a Traveller universe too.

And guess what happened in January Tribes? Benoworf premiered! A kind of cross between Skoldpadda and a Traveller Grant Cab, most voted for by the community during one of our Friday Livestreams on Youtube.

By default Benoworf has an interior cargo space of 6×8 tiles, a vestibule of 4×4 tiles, and the upper deck is 4×4 tiles, plus a 2×2 tile area at the front and 1×2 at the back. The alternate nose and upper deck is compatible with the base Skoldpadda, and the ship can be lengthened, but not wide.

These two massiv Tribes releases will be followed this month (February) by a phantom of sorts. That is the working title of the drone space fighter inspired by QF-9iE Ghost II, a obscure Macross design. It features six turrets and 44 missiles, letting you get a full Itano Missile Circus going! The arms stow for landing.

Weighing in at around 28 cm (11.3 inches) in length, or 16.5 metres at scale this phantom of a space fighter is another big Tribes release.

All three, Skoldpadda, Benoworf and the phantom drone will be presented in more details on 2nddynasty.com shortly.

Don’t miss our latest campaign Expendable that launches today!

It features both beautifully sculpted GridForge terrain and STL scenery as well as a grim, cinematic survival campaign built for Star Quest, the solo/co-op narrative system from One Page Rules. Over three fully realized missions, your crew of roughneck heroes will:

    • Repair a failing relay station – and discover the first signs of something unnatural.
    • Investigate the abandoned base, now overrun with inhuman hybrids and leaking its last breath.
    • Make a desperate escape across a deadly strip mine, pursued by androids that no longer see you as human.

The GridForge terrain and STL scenery includes communications relays, strip mines, exterior terrain, and a modular colony base of corridors, science labs, power plants, executive hangars and more.

The campaign ties directly into 2nd Dynasty’s June–August Tribes releases and culminates in a cinematic skirmish finale featuring AI-driven enemies, environmental hazards, and moral decisions with lethal consequences.

If you have missed the Tribes Expendable releases don’t fret, the GridForge parts are included in both the Cocytus Station Pledge and the Expendable Collection Pledge. The vehicles that were released in Tribes during June-August are found in the Expendable Collection Pledge.

    The Aesir Fleet Has Launched

Our latest campaign – The Aesir Fleet: 28mm Ships for your tabletop – is currently running at Backerkit and we are fully funded. Now we are excited to see what achievements/stretch goals will be met before the fleet reaches it destination at 1.00am CEST on March 1, 2025.

The campaign offers five vessels, both old and new ones. Starship Sleipnir is back with a complete refit and overhaul, as is the Fenrir.

These two tail-sitters has three new sister ships in different shapes and sizes and we are proud to introduce the Valkyria Shuttle, the Ratatosk Light Corvette, and the Nidhogg Torpedo Destroyer.

All five vessels come from the Aesir Shipyards, owned by a conglomerate of Scandinavian bloc megacorps sometimes called Kalmar II after the famed 14th century union of Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Each vessel is named for a legendary wight of Norse Mythology (which have been Anglicised), and built in the Mercurius Shipyards.

New Character Miniatures in Our Store at MyMiniFactory

Two pilots in different poses and a ground crew of four workers are are now available in our store at MyMiniFactory. The miniatures was a part of our Operation Maelstroem campaign on Kickstarter.

The two pilots are sized to be seated in any of our starfighter cockpits or starship chairs. And besides the seated position they also comes in four other poses: standing, saluting while seated, in action and scrambling. Most of these includes variants with and without a helmet and they are available as individuals as well as in packages.

The ground crew consists of a marshaller, a shooter, a mechanic and a signaler. In this release they are available as individual objects. They all have variants with and without helmet.

The pilots and ground crew are skillfully sculptured by Koni Machado and Kyoushuneko Miniatures respectively.

In total there are 17 new released variations of the miniatures. And in the store you can also find a couple of earlier releases of some of the pilots in a package, in action and saluting while seated as well as the ground crew package and drivers.
